Ive got my mind absolutley 100% set on the tattoo im going to get. Its my first, and probably only tattoo.
I want a rorschaff style crow, to be precise, the crow symbol from the film 'The Crow', at the top of my spine, with the birds beak just on to my neck, and the wings spreading about 4 inches either way across my shoulders.
Thing is, people have told me that this is one of the most painful places to have work, and, as i have no idea how tattooing feels like anyway, im a bit edgy!!
Is there anything you can compare the feeling to?? Especially in that place.

you really can not gauge the amount of pain for another person. i personally think tattooing is not that bad. but its one of those things you really need to experience for yourself. no one can really tell you how it will feel. the amount of nerve endings and it even depends on how heavy handed the tattoo artist is... there are many things that factor into it. i just say if you want it, get it. pain or no pain. it shouldnt take too long and you will make it through. best of luck!

I dunno about that place but liken it to pinging a rubber band against ur skin again and again.They do it bit by bit anyway so u have time to recover *^_^*
Mine's on my shoulder blade so its also quite close to bone. It didnt hurt to be honest-it was bearable, even addictive. I was planning on only getting one too but its been 3 weeks and ive planned my next one already.

Well, it all depends on how high of a pain tolerance you have. I myself, have a fiarly high pain tolerance, and have a rose on the back of my neck. I was also told by people that the neck, and ankles(inner and outer) are painful places to get tattoos, but it wasn't that painful for me... I think it all depends on pain tolerance, and how you keep your mind occupied while getting the tattoo (like focus on your breathing or something) I read somewhere that studies show as long as you keep breathing, it doesn't hurt as much. so don't hold your breath... literally.
As to compare the feeling, let's just say it's not as painful as a near second degree sunburn on the back of your neck.

I actually rather liked being tattooed there!!
My tat runs all the way down the entire length of my spine...hehehehe ^_^
Everyone tried to put me off, but thats where I wanted it, so I went for it.
I prepared myself for intense pain but only found enjoyment, no pain at all for me.... maybe even a semi-erotic feeling..I'm having more done of course!!!
