Hey i was wondering if anyone could give me a list of signs of a tattoo infection. It's my girlfriends tattoo and its swollen and hurts whenever its touched and it's on her ankle. if anyone could tell me if it might be infected or any other signs to watch out for that would be great.

I don't think it's infected, how long was it since she took it? If she just took it, it will be swollen for a time, and it will hurt too. But didn't she get a sort of gel to put on it?!
I'm not any expert but it sounds like she doesn't have an infection, the tattoo is just new. ;)

anything really red or oozy. if she isnt having any sort of discharge chances are shes fine. the ankle is a sensitive spot, she could also be putting to much lotion on it. i would advice you she gets the dial antibacterial soap and only use that on it until it heals washing 2-3 times a day. shouldnt be a problem though.

it could very well be infected.is it healing?and how long ago did she get it?
if it was a few days ago and doesn't start healing soon,go see a doctor!
