first tatt..R0ck_Star - 2006-01-07 22:06:27 Uhr
hey.. i dont have any tatts, but am 99% sure im going to go get this one ive been wanting for a while now... a small quarter size black outline of a star on my lower stomach, just above my pants.. on the far right side..so basically on my hip, but not on the bone. anyways lol.. im worried about pain obviousley.. friend of mine said it wouldent hurt as much as the industrial piercing i got.. but i dont think u can compare tatt and peircing pains..its two completly differnt types of pain. but yea, so curious about pain level, and maintenance..all that good stuff, i really know nothing about tatts so any info is appreciated.

I dont know personally.. but a local piercing/tattoo site has an amazing page full of info of aftercare of tattoos...
http://www.renaissancehairandbody.com/packages/
or if that direct link dosnt work...
www.renaissancehairandbody.com and then go to the tattoos section...
thats the site.. just go to the tattooo section and you'll probably get something out of it!
Hopefully this will help!

The pain factor is different for each person. For one person it might be painful, for someone else it could be the worst pain they ever felt. It all depends on the individual's pain tolerance.

anonymus_vamp1re is right everyones pain factor is different. it all depends on the person.when you get your tat done who ever does the tat for you will tell you how to take care of it. at least all the studios around my neck of the woods do. ;- ) the main thing on the after care of a tat is DO NOT let it scabe up. scabes pull the ink out of tats.around here we use triple antibiotic ointment for about 2 days. then we keep lotion on it untill it has fully healed. make sure the lotion you use DOES NOT have any perfume in it at all. it burns like hell.;-) your tattooest should tell you the way they do the after care after he finishes the tat for you. looking at this web site i've seen different things done. some i've never seen before,so every place has different ways of doing things.the best advise anyone can give you. i guess would simply be. do exactly what the tattooest tells ya. :-)

You cannot compare the sensation of a tattoo and a piercing. Ford all my piercings, I never felt anything, alway's asking if they are going to start and they told me it is finished... But tattoo is different. It felt like someone is scratcing you. Il is not pleasant, but tolerable. At the place you want, it is a little bit more painful thant on arms, but nothing to make you change your mind.

Ive got an tattoo at the left side of my hip.To me it didn`t really hurt, it's only the vibrations when the needle came to the bone which made me feel uncomfortable.

hey i'm gonna go ahead and agree with 2 previous replies, it all depends on your pain tolerance level. it also has something to do with the tattooist because some are a little harder than others(push harder) and that makes the pain vary too..so for one person to tell you how much it would hurt is impossible..its a circumstantial thing..

I was shocked by how UN-painful my first tattoo was. I was expecting the worst pain of my life, but it's merely an irritating, stinging sensation. I'm aware pain tolerance is different from person to person, but it really isn't terrible. To be honest, my septum piercing hurt worse. And, assuming you are a girl, women usually have a higher pain tolerance than men. With all that in mind, good luck!
P.S. This might sound really stupid and corny, but keep thinking to yourself "Relax" and don't tense up. When you feel yourself tensing up, remember that it won't be as irritating if you just relax yourself. It worked for me.
