Okay, so today I got snakebites but the piercer used rings. I now have some studs If I went back to the piercer tommorow would he be able to remove the rings and insert the studs safely? I dont want to do it myself because of obvious reasons (infections etc) Also my job is being skeptical about the rings and would prefer if I had studs.

usually piercers ask for people to leave in the jewelry they pierce with for a while, i.e . 4-6 weeks before changing it, but its all up to your piercer, i personally always pierce lips with studs to start, i find a higher healing percentage, but thats just me, you could ask them if they will, just dont be put off if they dont want to, its because they dont want to cause further aggrivation or damage to you than they have to. hope this helps

It's not generally a good idea, for both healing and swelling issues. However, if the piercings are healthy, they can be changed. You may notice a slight pain and/or increase in swelling when you make the switch due to the difference in shape.
