Problem with healed lobe

I got my ears pierced for the first time around 10 years ago maybe. They were done in a jewellery store with a piercing gun (well at the time i didn't know any better...) So obliously the quality of the holes is not the best possible. The other one is just fine but the other has some scar tissue / cartilage inside the skin (on the lobe). Yesterday i bought some earrings (BCR) that were larger gauge(?) than the holes itself. The other went in well with little/no problems but the other one didn't want to go in. I kept trying for quite a long time and finally got it through, it hurt. I can't move the earring on the piercing without pain and today i noticed there was some minor bleeding. the other one can move on the hole and there's no pain/ bleeding. Did this happen because of the jewellery being too large and it streched the hole too much? And could the cartilage /scar tissue inside the lobe have caused the problem? I've used sea salt soak to clean the painful ear...just like a fresh piercing cos of the bleeding. Do you think i can keep the new earring in it or should i change it to smaller? I'm not trying to strech my lobes,, Thanks :-)

the desision is all yours the pain is normal going bigger and it will heal just fine maybe better moving some of the scarring out
