sounds like it's just rejecting, although I've never seen one go that fast.. but then again, I've never had one on my chest. Nasty ones just look like they're pulling out of the skin, and you slowly see more and more of the ring. My only advice (based on my own experiences) is to just keep it clean (soak in epsom salts) do NOT pick the scabs or rub them off, try not to touch it as much as possible. Anyway, if you're really concerned, see your piercer. Surface piercings like that are very common to reject.

usually when a piercing starts rejecting, there's no way it will stop. it's best you get it out and keep cleaning it for a few days until the hole is closed. by the way, it's a mistake to clean it with alcohol if it's not infected. best thing for aftercare is sea salt water and plain vaseline, you dont need to treat it with stronger substances.. it can only cause you problems.
rejection is quite common in surface piercings. a friend of mine got her chest pierced twice in a row because of rejection and the only thing that remained is a lot of scarring. after that she tried anchors, at the spots where the holes of the surfaces used to be. now the anchors are gone too.. my advice is,get rid of this thing NOW, before you find yourself with some nasty scars. wait a few weeks and try a different piercer. oh and only one question.. what barbell did you use? cause even ptfe bars are not so good for surfaces. the best ones are with 90 degree' angles...
