I'm pretty new to piercing and just recently got addicted. I have both nipples pierced and three in each ear and working on strecthing. I'm really wanting to get a PA but wanting to know the low down on other piercings below the belt (for a man) and what some others opinions are. Also what is the best to start with for a newbie?

For me...nipples hurt...there was a burning sensation that I had on my tit for the three days I had it.
As far as "starting" out...A nose piercing is a good one, it's easy to take care of. Oral piercings are suich a pain in the ass to take care of. In terms of pain too, the nose you feel it, but it's not horrendous. Most face stuff feels like a pinch. Surprisingly, my conch (the inner cup of your ear) I didn't even feel. And i imagined horror when I got it. My tragus hurt a bit, and from what I understand, most of the other intricate cartillage piercings don't hurt that bad. My industrial didn't hurt either.
Below the belt and surface piercings are the only places I haven't gone, I've done nipples and belly button as well as most of the stuff on your face you can do aside from Webbing and Surface piercings.
And with my thing with stretching-wait until you're fistula's (the hole/the canal) are completely healed, for abotu a month. Then go ahead and mess with it. I always lubed my tapers with Neosporin, which made them slide right through with minimal tearage, and when there was, it healed by the next day. Neosporin isn't a good idea on non healed piercings, but if the holes are healed and you're just stretching, go for it. I didn't find the pain of stretching my lobes too severe, but I stretched one of my helixs to a ten, and good god, that hurt so much. But I love having the ring that size in it.
Hope that helps

Best for a newbie?? you mean painless?? Well, I also (holesinmyheart) think that conch, snug, tragus edc. isn't good cause they really hurt- I had to wait 3 months to get them healed. Industrial isn't the best choice either. You should start with a nostril (nose piercing), navel is fantastic too!!! I had one and it didn't hurt at all. Piercing on your face? hm... madonna or monroe are ok. They don't hurt like lip rings when you eat, drink edc - maybe it's cause of the placement. And about surface... If you're a beginner don't try it. It's really hard to heal and painfull- but gorgeous of course:)

Nose piercings are nice, and not very painful to get. I suggest it

If you want a below the belt piercing, you could get a hafada. basically piercings on ur ball sack. I had that done for awhile, I took it out though cause i had a horseshoe in it and it kept getting stuck on my clothing..hurt... though a cbr would probably work good, i couldn't put one in though cause it was pierced weird and there was too much skin for a cbr
