you can, i suppose you just risk it gettin caught on ur braces.....and probably a constant hitting of the 2 metals together might get annoying...

I had my labret pierced with my braces and it never caused a problemed. A regular lip ring, like on the sides, would probably be annoying, but as long as you wouldn't play with it too much, it would'nt mess with your wiring or anything. I also had my tongue pierced (twice) while I still had braces. As long as you don't play with it, you should do fine. Your ortho will advise against it though, so he prepared to get chewed out.
When I got my first tongue ring while I had my braces, my orthodontist walked by while I had m mouth open and he said "Oh, take a look at that" and laughed.

as a piercer i dont see it as a problem, but i would ask your orthodontist.

'' oh it's a litle turtle on it?'' =P in a bad german/norwegian accsent..
