Hi. Was wondering, i'm considering gauging my ears but rather than using standard metal or acrylic i've been looking at some really cool glass ones at an online store where i've been buying some stuff from. has anyone ever gauged with glass hooks, claws, talons etcetera rather than the standard stuff? could someone maybe check out the gauges at spikesonline.ca and let me know if this would work?

I've never guaged with glass before, but i'm gonna go ahead and say it would probably work fine, as long as its clean and everything, i don't see why not, i've seen people guage with pencils before... obviously your not gonna wanna guage a lot at a time though...take it slow. but i assuem you know that glass hould work fine though.

I used a talon to go from 12g to 6g. Even though I tried to advance it just a titch every few days, it was way too much too soon. If you can get a glass taper that'll take you up one size, I'd say go for it.
Don't be too eager to move too quickly like I was. I had to baby my ears and even needed antibiotics to get myself all healed up. It doesn't need to be that way.
It shouldn't be that way.

yes, go slow!!! i know when you get to 1/2 you will want to rush dont make the same mistake i did!!! blowouts just look gross and you need wider plugs. i wish i had this when i started so here http://www.onetribe.nu/catalog/stretching.php

i only had 1 blow out and i have used glass its not at all different from plastic or metal well... just dont drop it! lol i did.... Yea im at a 00g now its pretty hard from here on out beause useing tapers would take a FUCKING long time... i dont like to wait so im useing tape.... every 3 or 4 days i add 1-2 inches of tape its not as slow and i havent had any blow outs so its going well

I just stretched my ear-piercing from 2mm to 6mm using a claw. it worked out perfectly for me, no blowouts or anything! What's really important is to make sure the claw/talon/taper is 100% sterile when you start!! Be patient, and cleanse EVERY DAY like you did when you got the ear pierced originally. Good luck:)

well, i gauged up unhealthily, i just shoved a bigger size in. thats cool if its a taper jewelry, ofter called pinchers. right now i have 00 glass spiral like things in. they are fine. i do have to scrape some crap off every once in a while, but i like them. plugs are good if your ears are healed. i would reccommend gauging, but make sure the size you want will close, unless you want huge holes in you ears at 80. the tunnels at the site look fine, but as i said, dont do plugs too quick. if they have taper like stuff, fine. but dont use plugs that fast if your JUST starting. hope that helps..
