NO DO NOT BUY THEIR JEWELRY!!! IT IS VERY VERY VERY POOR QUALITY.

I'd like to say that buying their jewelry isn't that bad..i mean yea its lower quality as is any jewlry from a non-jewelry store(FYE, Claires, ect..) but i wqouldn't recomend buying the jewelry for a new piercing. an older one thats fully healed i say is fine but definately not a new one..i had a bad experience with a bellybutton piercing with fewwelry from FYE....started to get infected...took it out and replaced it with better jewelry though..

Can you please explain why you would want to buy body jewelry from a store that sells music, movies, and video games? FYE is one of the last places I would think of to buy jewelry.
As for HotTopic, theirs is also low quality and should NEVER be used in a fresh piercing. Your best bet is always to go to a piercing studio and get the jewelry there. You will most likely pay a little more, but you are guaranteed to get good quality if you go to a reputable studio.

For fresh piercings I go to a piercer who can customize size and length, which he does relatively cheap. I even had some troubles with healed piercing and cheap ass jewelry, especially belly button barbels, some were too short and others left weird stains. Ugh.

The only thing I have bought from Hot-Topic and will ever buy from there was a pair of pliers to remove the balls from my nipple rings,(that i got from my piercer). Do yourself a favor, buy a t-shirt there and go to your piercer for jewlery.

Witchy Bitchy Beauty Spot in Norway, Bergen do the same... There you have people you can trust on, and good jewelly... Just to let everyone know;)
