If a piercing such as a vertical eyebrow piercing is going to reject, how long does this take?

It varies for everyone, all i know is that mine started rejecting after about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

if it is not done correctly it will start rejecting right away. no waiting period... if you think you might have this problem take it out immediatly, unless you dont mind nasty scars on your face.

this might sound really stupid, but how do you know if it's rejecting? what does it look like? what are the signs? i have a new navel piercing and i am very worried about rejection/scarring etc...

Usually you get swelling, and redness that doesnt calm down. The piercing may be sore/painful too. When its actually rejecting you will notice the jewellery moving outwards from the skin. With an eyebrow for example, the bit of skin covering the bar will gradually get smaller until eventually the piercing is no more, and all you have is a scar.
Be aware that all piercings will be swollen and sore to begin with.

it could just grow out realy fast. you could live it in and just make the bar or ring that you have in thiner. like if its a 1.6 go down to a 1.2 and it will take longer to reject. some take months and others it can takes years depending on what your body is like, not everyone is the same. id leave it in untill it pulls out or till the very last min, but its up to you. alot of people think that a piercing is rejecting when realy all it is doing is finding a place under your skin that its most happy to lay. id leave it a few weeks and see how much it has moved then make your mind up about it. keep looking after it and it should not hurt or go red even if it starts to reject.

both of my eyebrows, actually all of my piercings tried to reject the ring but all i did was keep it clean and they healed. I do not have any problem with any of them now.
