Are there any advantages or disadvantages to "twisted"(as I've heard them called) navel rings? parking, tearing, migration? I have a rather deep navel piercing, so most banana bells are a bit short and have read that twisted rings may be beneficial for this situation. Thanks.

the "twisted rings" your talking about, is it the kind thats like, similar to a hourse shoe, but longer, and curved? if so, id think that it would get caught on clothes alot easier. my navel piercing it quite deep too, so i had to get a custom (1/2 inch) barbell made. just a thought for you?

I think a "horse shoe" can be used for a Lip Pircing, but for navel?
But I can't imagine what a "twisted ring" should be.

i buy a lot of stuff at spikesonline.ca and they've got some really cool belly button twisters made from titanium. they're long but really light in weight. check them out.
