can anyone help me ive had my tongue peirced for about 12 weeks now but i dont know what size barbell to changed it too my current one is a 22mm.
please help as i really want to change it

it's probably 14g so any 14g barbell should be fine. go to your piercer and they will downsize it for you if you really don't know what jewelery you should be using, or if you aren't sure how to change it yourself. or you could go to a store that sells body jewelery and ask some one to help you find a shorter one.

not all 14g barbells are the same length, they vary in size, alot.. so if your not sure go to your piercer and they will get the right length for you... right now i think mine is.. 12mm.. bu i dontknow.. i might be way off.. that just what i think i remember i was told..

It's probably pierced with a 1.6mm diameter wire that's 22mm in length. (1.6mm is the most commonly used guage for new piercings in the UK. The next most common are either 1.2mm or 2.4mm thick, but they're unlikely, - not impossible - for a tongue)
If you choose a 1.6mm barbell about 14mm in length that should be about right. If you think your tongue isn't 14mm try to "guestimate" the length required by putting your present barbell in so that you can unscrew the removable ball from underneath your tongue. Pinch the stem of the barbell on the top of your tongue between your thumbnail and your index finger, unscrew the ball, remove the barbell without moving your thumbnail, re-attach the ball and measure the distance from your thumbnail to the ball and that's the approximate length you need. You'll need to add a mm or two to that measurement to allow for your tongue to thicken as you make certain sounds or do certain tongue movements.
