depends on what you're making the piece for.... but i've had this idea for a while that might be cool.... it's a surface piercing project piece.... take two small rods about 8 inches long, lay them paralell to each other, attach them at each end with 1 1/2 inch rods.... like a rectangle.... then at 1 inch intervals, equal to each side, attach some sort of small ring.... in the center of the piece you could do whatever type of design you wish.... maybe flames of whatever, though don't get too wild cause it shouldn't be too heavy..... then, in my idea, get someone to do 16 surface piercings with surface barbells 1 inch apart from each other..... wait for them to heal, and then you can take the apparatus and place the rings over the shaft of the exposed barbell.... once you put the ball ends back on the thing would be held on cause the rings of the piece would be smaller than the ball end... --o--o--o--o--o--o-- | | --o--o--o--o--o--o-- i hope you got a decent idea of what i'm meaning.... i would think that this might be a pretty cool looking thing, though not to be worn all the time due to the obvious risk of it getting hung up on something and ripping the piercings out.... perhaps it could be used on the forearms, or biceps.... maybe the chest for someone braver than i.... i dunno..... i'm sure that probally wasn't what you meant when you requested ideas, but i had been thinking about that for a long time and was waiting for an opportunity to express it.....
