BananaSplit - 2004-07-31 15:59:33 Uhr

Hey, im gettin my navel done soon and the info i get from this site contradicts each other lol..some people say it doesnt hurt at all, and some people say it kills :S Also should i start with a ring, or a bar...i want a bar but people say that if u have a bar it is more likely to get infected..and irratated which will make it reject..any advice?

For me It didn't hurt that bad! (even when my boyfriend pierced it 3 times that day hahaha) and I think u should get a banana =O 'cause in my opinion with the ring it's more likely to get infections!!

For most navels both, especially when it is a normal upside navelpiercing, both, a ring and a bar would bei possible. So its your decission.

i had my navel pierced with a bar and healed fine... saying that my missus had hers done with a bar, it got infected, she then changed it to a ring and it healed perfectly... i'd go for a bar, BUT clean it everyday with salt water (it did the trick for me)

I got it with a bar and I believe it can be better cause it doesn't move much... But with a ring it's easier to clean up, and that's a fact... But if you do it with a bar and clean up well I think its the best :)

Go with the banana bar! I have had countless people come in with a reaction of one type or another with the ring. I will only use a banana bar now due to that fact. However, if the shop you go to will charge you extra for the bar or says they can't use it. Look somewhere else.

Go for the banana bar, I had mine done with a ring and it took ages to heal cos it kept catching on my clothes and things, and then started to grow out, I changed to a banana bar and have had no problems at all since i put it in!

hi banana are many the the things thet can influece a good healing of your future piercing.but for what regard the choice of the jewel my advice is that a ring can be better to keep clean and let space ur fresh pierc. but could ,in all its circonferece, be subject at stresses of to many and wrong movements. a navelbananabell would avoid problems cause by an accesive movement but could let u few space to clean properly ur pirec. take care that anyway the bar must be longer than the piercing, u need space! the choice in the end is yours, maybe first a bcr(cheeper) and then a "definitive" banana(more exapansive) that fits perfect on ur healed piercing could be my real suggestion. hope i helped u a bit as the others. ciao VBananaSplit wrote: > > Hey, > > im gettin my navel done soon and the info i get from this site > contradicts each other lol..some people say it doesnt hurt at > all, and some people say it kills :S > Also should i start with a ring, or a bar...i want a bar but > people say that if u have a bar it is more likely to get > infected..and irratated which will make it reject..any advice?

A banana bar is one of those curvy bars, like a banana shape, lol!! Just a regular belly bar.

Id say go with a bar. True, rings are easier to clean, but they also move alot, and get caught easily, which increases the healing time. And its not much more affort to clean around a bar. In the UK, its illegal to pierce with PTFE. If you then choose to put PTFE in, thats your choice, but it has been shown that the plastic cannot be properly sterilised and can lead to nasty infections. I dont know the laws where you are, but i would advise against PTFE.

PTFE is not illegal in the UK, and can be properly sterilised cos it can be autoclaved, it is the only plastic that can be thou so the only plastic you can be pierced with.
