the newer it is the bigger barbell you should use and keep the barbell simple. dont get fancy ones until you can master just balls on it. you want to keep the barbell simple and long til the swelling goes down but once it goes down MAKE SURE you change it so the barbell wont keep hitting on your teeth

I haven't seen a ring for tongue ... but ist sounds intresting.

use a surgical steel barbell barbell with surgical steel balls.i dont use pplastic balls due to those can split and the steel will stay tighter when screwed on.Use a long bar so the balls dont swell into your tongue. I had to use a 3/4 inch barbell for mine. You should have specified if you had it done or not.

Just a note, don't get SS if you have any sort of nickel allergy, putting it in your tongue is guaranteed to cause problems regardless of how severe it is... and I learned that the hard way.

i have three done and i would suggest leaving in what your piercest gave you untill it is completely healed.. thenaftarward experiment with different types until you find something that feels good to you... but word to the wise plastic may break but it's cheaper to replace plastic than a chipped tooth.
