Acceptance- I just wanted to know or just to talk about how many people feel they arent accepted and have trouble from piercing discrimination?
I for some reason want to be discriminated to some degree. When ppl totally accept you thats just a nice way to say assimilated. I wont conform so they make what i do to stand out conforming. When nirvana started the grunge thing they stood out with there clothing and attitude but as time went on everyone started to be like that and then they were just another ordinary group. And personally i dont want to be grouped with the ordinary.
I just wanted to get some others thoughts on my theory.

man oh man its crazee and yes..pretty grim..
you see the retards in the fasion industry are there to make the masses feel "cool" and origonal..and even the people with no personal taste seem to derive lots of pleasure from being fuking copy cats...
yyeah i was part of the grunge thing here in ireland....combats ..wooly jumpers...etc etc..but then the bastars runin the main streem fasion thing decided to make combats super cool!!! bastards....after me getting bared from random pubs and clubs for being hmmm origonal (ish) all of a sudden the mupets thed gave me stick in school were all wearing........u guessed it......COMBATS.
the same thing happened with the cool hippy look....nice skirts,,,beads...smiles and free spirited......NOW..ha ha...all the girls that once looked like comman slappers looked pretty nice ,,,only for it was a fake image, false and off puting....go and expect a nice talk with a pretty hippy and u get a dodgy bitch in desguise.....hmm man its a shame piercing became so fukin popular....mabey we should get plastic surgery and remove all our facial features in the strugglew to project how we feel...and to make people understand THIS IS ME FUKERS...MY PLAN...MY..FACE...AND MY IDEA...SO PISS OFF.
unfortunatly my friend the world is filled with 99 percent consumer zombies...i guess u gotta wear how u feel on the inside these days....well i sleep well at night knowing who i am and where im from...no mtv mohawks..or supa fly bullshit here...just a bunch of people who love the needle.
( bit of a rant ..sorry)

The way I see it body mods are eventually gonna become part of mainstream fashion (to a certain extent). I don't really follow whats fashionable, but from what I have noticed it works like this:
Some famous person does something
More famous people do the same thing
The fashion slaves do it
The good thing though, is that it will soon become unfashionable. And those of us who truely belive in what we are doing will once again be safe. The slaves on the otherhand will have screwed them selves in the name of fashion.

Originality is so overrated.
Who am I or is someone else to decide who is fake or not? How to differ the poseur from the authentic bodmod or otherwise fanatic? Is there such a thing as an authentic bodmod-, grunge, goth, or punk - fanatic?
Yes, it does suck when the thing you faught for so hard, is now suddenly mainstream and cool and when you notice that all the stupid people who laughed at you because of your clothing or piercings now are wearing it themselves. Yes, it sucks.
But it is better to stress the individuality from within. Which doesn't mean you should stop fighting for your right to look the way you want to and be innovative when it comes to your looks.
I did got rid of the thought that I could or should stress my individuality with a piece of steel in my face or a blot of ink in my skin. I now get another piercing because, hell, I like it. Not becaue I'm afraid that I will appear mainstream if I don't have enough of them. I felt so relieved when I got rid of that trail of thought: I don't have to go out and prove to people I'm not mainstream. I can wear everyday pants and a bland sweater when I feel like it. When I'm not in the mood for it, I don't have to doll up to look off-beat.
When it comes to thought, I'm almost always not mainstream. Sometimes I'm proud of that, but sometimes it makes me feel lonely and when it comes to my political(left-winged) view I loose all hope for the world.
